Blue Star Neighbors
For the **Blue Star Neighbors** campaign, I spearheaded a comprehensive social media strategy aimed at fostering connections between military families and their civilian neighbors. My goal was to recruit volunteers, businesses, civic organizations, sponsors, and donors to become Blue Star Neighbors, helping military families thrive amidst the unique challenges they face, especially during a time of war. Through targeted content creation and strategic promotion across social media platforms, I highlighted the importance of community support for military families. By sharing stories of military families and emphasizing the ease of becoming a Blue Star Neighbor, I successfully increased engagement and participation, thereby strengthening the support network for those who serve our country. This campaign not only raised awareness but also inspired actionable community involvement, making a tangible difference in the lives of military families.
Sleep Number Giveaway
For the Sleep Number Giveaway campaign, I collaborated with Sleep Number to bring the gift of quality sleep to deserving military families. My role involved creating and executing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to promote the giveaway, which encouraged the public to nominate military families in need of new beds. I designed engaging graphics and slogans, such as “Help A Military Family Fall in Love With Good Sleep Again,” to drive participation. The campaign was a resounding success, with thousands of nominations received. I had the privilege of personally accompanying Sleep Number to surprise the selected family, documenting the emotional experience as the new beds were installed. This campaign not only provided a life-changing gift to a military family but also strengthened the connection between the military community and corporate partners like Sleep Number.
Disney Screenings
For the Disney Channel Screenings initiative, I was responsible for distributing last-minute tickets to early screenings of popular Disney movies and TV shows, such as *Andi Mack* and *Thor*, to deserving military families across the country. Despite the challenges of coordinating these opportunities on short notice and across various locations, I leveraged my social media expertise to quickly identify and connect with military families who would benefit from these special experiences. My efforts ensured that families serving our nation were able to enjoy exclusive, memorable moments together, strengthening their bonds and creating lasting memories during times of sacrifice.
National Geographic (Chain of Command)
In collaboration with National Geographic, I led the digital marketing efforts to promote their **Chain of Command** series, an intimate portrayal of the global war against violent extremism and the dedicated men and women on the front lines. Through targeted social media campaigns and strategic content creation, I highlighted the series' powerful narrative, drawing attention to the sacrifices made by those fighting radical threats worldwide. My work helped amplify the reach of this important documentary, connecting it with military families and the broader public, and deepening their understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by our service members.
Starbucks Yellow Ribbon Trees
For the Starbucks Yellow Ribbon Tree campaign, I played a key role in raising awareness and driving participation across the country. By leveraging social media and digital marketing strategies, I ensured that the public was informed about the opportunity to honor service members and their families during the holiday season. My efforts encouraged thousands of people to visit over 150 participating Starbucks locations, where they decorated Yellow Ribbon Trees with heartfelt ornaments, showing their appreciation for the sacrifices made by military families. End-Of-Year Donations
For the End of Year Donations campaign, I utilized social media to drive critical contributions to the nonprofit organization. Military Family Lifestyle Service Report
For the Military Family Lifestyle Survey (MFLS), I played a crucial role in ensuring the widespread participation of military families nationwide, using targeted social media and digital marketing strategies. The MFLS is the most comprehensive and influential survey of military family life, providing critical insights into the challenges faced by service members and their families, such as spouse employment, family separation, and housing. My efforts were instrumental in gathering diverse data from across the country, contributing to over 7,400 responses in 2017. This data was presented to members of Congress and high-ranking officials, informing policies that directly impact military families. By driving participation in the MFLS, I helped Blue Star Families create a robust, data-driven report that serves as a vital resource for improving the quality of life for those who serve our nation.
