As the owner and founder of VIP Alexandria Magazine, a premier lifestyle publication, I set out to create a platform that captures the vibrant spirit of Alexandria, VA. The Challenge: Surviving a Pandemic and Crushing It
Launching VIP Alexandria Magazine was a daunting task on its own, but the challenge intensified when the pandemic hit just three months after our first issue. Starting a new print publication in such uncertain times was especially tough, and as a woman publisher, I faced even greater scrutiny. However, under my leadership, we got creative and pivoted. We became known as the magazine that kept printing to support the community, even waiving fees for advertisers facing financial hardships. This commitment to our community earned us a nomination for BEST IN BUSINESS, and I was honored as a 40 Under 40 recipient the following year.
