The Coffee Shop at Fontaine
For the Fontaine Caffe branding project, I developed a visual identity that perfectly complements their French-inspired coffee shop, which has become a beloved meeting spot for Alexandria locals. The deep brown and deep golden yellow color scheme was chosen to evoke the warmth and richness of a perfect cup of coffee, with the brown representing the deep, comforting tones of freshly brewed espresso and the golden yellow reflecting the inviting, sunlit ambiance of the space. These colors work together to create a cozy and welcoming environment, free from pretentiousness, yet still elegant.
To further enhance the approachable feel of the brand, I incorporated coffee splashes as a key texture throughout the design. This not only adds a dynamic and artistic element to the branding but also subtly ties back to the tactile experience of enjoying a cup of coffee. The splashes give the space an artistic pop, aligning with the shop's mission to feature local artists' work as part of its decor.
The typeface I selected is a textured version of Muara, chosen for its ability to convey authenticity and a down-to-earth coffee shop vibe. The texture adds a handcrafted feel, further reinforcing the welcoming atmosphere and making the branding feel both grounded and artistic, much like the coffee shop itself.
In addition to the branding, I designed and launched a website for Fontaine Caffe, securing the prime domain Alexandriacoffee.com. The website is a seamless extension of the brand, with a visually cohesive design that echoes the deep brown and golden yellow color scheme. I curated all content to reflect the coffee shop’s welcoming, artistic atmosphere, showcasing both the menu and the featured works of local artists. The site is not only aesthetically aligned with the in-store experience but also user-friendly, offering easy navigation and a warm, inviting feel that draws visitors in, just like the coffee shop itself.
